1881-Kintaro Hattori opens a clock shop in Tokyo’s fabled Ginza district and ways the foundation for modern clock and watch making in Japan.
This store is the direct ancestor of Seiko Corporation of America. Established under the name of K. Hatori the history of Seiko begins.
